<b>What Happend in 19th Ramadan ?  </b></h4>
On the 19th of Shahr Ramadhan of the year 40 AH, Imam ‘Ali (AS) came to 
the mosque in Kufah for his morning prayers. The Imam (AS) mysteriously 
desired his sons Hasan (AS) and Husayn (AS) to offer their morning 
prayers in the house and not to accompany him as they usually did to the
 mosque. Imam ‘Ali (AS) gave the call for prayer (adhan) and became 
engaged in leading the congregation.

‘Abdurrahman ibn Moljem (LA) pretending to pray stood just behind Imam 
‘Ali (AS). As the Imam (AS) was leading the prayers, while in the 2nd 
sajdah, the killer got up and quickly removed the poisonous sword 
hitting the Imam on his head with a big blow and the Imam (AS) said in a
 loud voice: “I swear by the Lord of Ka’bah, I have been successful.”<br />

he Qur'aan is the Holy Book Revealed to Prophet Muhammad . It has 
been preserved from his time and will remain unchanged until the Day of 
Judgment. Reciting from the Qur'aan and listening to it, are very 
rewardable and blessed deeds. It is a cause for a person’s heart to be 
softened, and contains many secrets. SubHanallaah, even looking at the 
Qur'aan alone with the intention of glorification contains reward. 
Allaah ta^aalaa said in the Qur'aan what means, “And Allaah would cure 
by it (the Qur'aan) the hearts of those who believed.”

Furthermore, Imaam Muslim narrated that the Messenger of Allaah  
said, “Read al-Qur'aan because indeed al-Qur'aan will come as an 
intercessor.” Imaam Al-Bukhaariyy narrated through the route of ^Uthmaan
 ibn ^Affaan that the Messenger of Allah  said, “(Among) The best among
 you are those who learn al-Qur'aan and taught it.”<br />
The person must keep in mind, however, that to gain any of the 
benefits from the Qur'aan and to get reward, one must read the verses on
 someone first from someone who read on someone, from someone who read 
on someone, and so on with a continuous chain going back to the Prophet . It was narrated that someone asked the Prophet, “Does someone have to
 learn to recite Qur'aan?” So the Prophet said, “Does the recitation of 
Qur'aan benefit you without you learning?” So there is no reward without
 learning how to recite the Qur'aan properly, saying all the letters 
from their exits, and the sincere intention.</div>

This post is for everyone on  that has no idea what Ramadan 
is. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Every day 
during this month, Muslims around the world spend the daylight hours in a
 complete fast. Muslims are called upon to use this month to re-evaluate
 their lives in light of Islamic guidance. We are to make peace with 
those who have wronged us, strengthen ties with family and friends, do 
away with bad habits – essentially to clean up our lives, our thoughts, 
and our feelings.<br />
It’s not only about not eating or drinking 
during the day. Please educate yourselves with this post and not ask

I fully intend to make the best of this Ramadan. I want to study the 
Quran on my own terms in peace (if you have favorite 
translators/translations I’d love recommendations). I want to try and 
observe praying more frequently. I want to feel more settled in my own 
self. I want to not give into anxiety attacks and depression that are 
threatening to overwhelm me because of my joblessness. Life will work 
out, I know. Inshallah. And maybe this Ramadan will give me more solid 
answers.  Maybe I’ll follow through on my whim and enroll myself in a 
religious/Quran class or figure out how to be a Muslim chaplain (or 
maybe I won’t). At the end of the day, I’ll try my best to make the best
 out of this Ramadan, regardless of my apprehensions of the approaching

The Islaamic Lunar Calender</h3>

There are twelve lunar months in the Islaamic lunar calender (A 
calender that is based on the cycles of the lunar phase (This is the 
appearance of the illuminated (sunlit) portion of the Moon as seen by an
 observer, usually on Earth). The first lunar month is called Muharram 
and the last lunar month is called Dhul Hijjah.<br />
The month of RamaDaan is the ninth lunar month of the Islaamic 
calendar and it is Religiously regarded as the best of all the Islaamic 
lunar months. An Islaamic lunar month is either 29 or 30 days, it is 
never 31 or 28. The Islaamic lunar calender is used by the Muslims to 
determine the beginning of the fasting month of RamaDaan, to come to 
know when the pilgrimage of Hajj will take place, to celebrate Islaamic 
celebrations such as the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, 
the two festivals of ^Eeid which mark the end of fasting the month of 
RamaDaan, the complete performance of the Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah) 
and other events that are of importance to the Muslims.<br />

We have to change our connection with Allah tabarak wa ta’ala. For how light is the view of Allah when they disobey Him. This is what was said by one of the Sahabahs when he had the crown of the Persian King in his hand.</div>

With
 only a few days left, take a minute to reflect over your progress this 
Ramadhan. The Qur’an in a number of ayat mentions the Qur’an causing us 
to cry or to have other physical effects on our body. Allah says<br />
<blockquote>
<b>"And they fall upon their faces weeping, and it (the Qur’an) increases them in humble submission."</b> (17:109)</blockquote>
Do you cry when the Qur’an is being recited? If not ask yourself why.
 Have you been sincere with Allah this Ramadhan, have you turned back to
 him? Do you secretly plan to go back to the way you were before 
Ramadhan?<br />
Brothers, have you really learnt to control your desires, to lower 
your gaze and avoid secret haram acts? Sisters, have you learnt to 
control your tongue and make sure that people are safe from it? Is the 
way you dress pleasing to Allah?<br />

We need to question every aspect of
 our lives, we need to recognise our sins and sincerely repent. We don’t
 know if Layla-tul-qadr has past or not, but we do know that we have a 
few more nights in which Allah will continue to free people from hell. <br />
This is a time to be honest with yourself, dont assume that just 
because the people around you do a certain act or dress a certain way 
that its acceptable in the eyes of Allah. Ramadhan is a time for change,
 and if you are not willing to take this opportunity to change, then you
 might fall into the group of people that the prophet (saw) made dua 
against, those who managed to witness Ramadhan and not be completely 
forgiven. Allah says<br />

“<b>And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion,</b> inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.” (98:5)</blockquote>

Ramadan
 is my favorite month because everything just seems at peace and in 
place for thirty days. The strength in our Ummah increases immensely, 
and even though it does not last long, I savor it every time. Everyone 
is together, and everyone is happy. Genuinely happy. Regardless of all 
the burdens, and problems surrounding us, we all really forget them, and
 focus on striving to obtain a much stronger Imaan. You can eat Sehri or
 Iftaar alone, but know the amounts of brothers and sisters who could be
 in the same circumstances as you, but only miles away. Long Taraweehs 
and endless reading of verses of the Qur’an is just so comforting, 
because no matter how weak or astray you are, you turn to Allah for 
these days and you feel comfort and safety though that. Nonetheless, 
there are those who look down upon this rejuvenation and cleansing, who 
condescendingly coined the term “Ramadan Muslims”. However, it should be
 looked at as something beautiful, how quickly we turn to Allah and 
strive to maintain a strong relationship with our faith during this 
month. The gratification for our spirituality and ease we feel during 
the month is a reminder as to why Islam means Peace.</div>

I’m
 so excited for this Ramadan omgsh. I can’t wait to make my somasa’s 
(amazing BTW), spend time with my family and friends. I can’t wait to do
 potlucks and share food with the neighbors. Omgsh and let’s not forget 
taraweh and tahaajuud! Aaaah I love Ramadan so much. May Allah increase 
us in faith and piety!<br />

May Allaah have mercy on all of those that have past away and will 
not be with us this Ramadan! May Allah protect us all, forgive us and 
have mercy on us! Subhan’Allaah the month of blessings,mercy, 
forgiveness,and happiness is almost here. Alhamdulilah, All praise and

I’m so excited for Ramadan…its literally right around the corner. 
There is no month greater and better than the Month of Ramadan. I can’t 
wait to make my somasas (I’m just saying they’re amazing), and get 
together with the family and friends. I can’t wait to do pot lucks and 
share food with the neighbors. Omgsh let’s not forget the prayers, aaah 
the prayers. I can’t wait for taraweh and tahaajuud(especially this 
prayer). No month makes me happier than this one. May Allah increase us 
in faith of Him and grant us piety, sincerity and patience.<br />

This is the month of forgiveness, mercy, love, compassion and so much
 more. Subhan’Allaah, such a great blessing. May we all reach this 
Ramadan. I’m looking forward to also changing as a person for the 
better. May Allah aide us all.<br />

May Allaah have mercy upon all of those that passed away. May He have
 mercy upon those that are suffering all around the world. There is so 
much khayr in this month, so don’t you forget you’re brothers and 
sisters in your duas. May He grant us all good and sincere hearts. May 
we all enter Jannah, and may we be neighbors!<br />

 so excited for ramadan looking for the moon and when we see it everyONE
 YELLS AND HUGS AND SWEETS AND THE MOSQUE MAKES AN ANOUNCEMENT ITS G R 
EA T ANd then staying up all night bc there is no wAY i will be able to 
wake up at three to eat and all of us are sitting together talking and 
keeping each other awake and then we eat and oH THE STRUGGLE TO DIRNK AS
 MUCH WATER AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN BEFORE THE ADHAN THAT IS GLORIOUS ANd 
you wake up feeling fat and “WHO CAN FINISH THE QURAN FIRST” races and 
complaining about how hungry you are and talking about how much food 
you’re going to eat when in reality you’ll eat barely a thing and THEN 
TARAWEEH WHEN YOU’RE ALL TIRED AND FULL AND EVERY TIME YOU FINISH ONE 
PRAY ER YOU MESS AROUND FOR TWENTY MINUTES BY THE TIME YOU’RE DONE ITS 
ONE IN THE MORNING AND THEN ITS EID DONT GET ME STARTED THERE I'M SO 
EXCITED </div>
