he Qur'aan is the Holy Book Revealed to Prophet Muhammad . It has 
been preserved from his time and will remain unchanged until the Day of 
Judgment. Reciting from the Qur'aan and listening to it, are very 
rewardable and blessed deeds. It is a cause for a person’s heart to be 
softened, and contains many secrets. SubHanallaah, even looking at the 
Qur'aan alone with the intention of glorification contains reward. 
Allaah ta^aalaa said in the Qur'aan what means, “And Allaah would cure 
by it (the Qur'aan) the hearts of those who believed.”

Furthermore, Imaam Muslim narrated that the Messenger of Allaah  
said, “Read al-Qur'aan because indeed al-Qur'aan will come as an 
intercessor.” Imaam Al-Bukhaariyy narrated through the route of ^Uthmaan
 ibn ^Affaan that the Messenger of Allah  said, “(Among) The best among
 you are those who learn al-Qur'aan and taught it.”<br />
The person must keep in mind, however, that to gain any of the 
benefits from the Qur'aan and to get reward, one must read the verses on
 someone first from someone who read on someone, from someone who read 
on someone, and so on with a continuous chain going back to the Prophet . It was narrated that someone asked the Prophet, “Does someone have to
 learn to recite Qur'aan?” So the Prophet said, “Does the recitation of 
Qur'aan benefit you without you learning?” So there is no reward without
 learning how to recite the Qur'aan properly, saying all the letters 
from their exits, and the sincere intention.</div>

It is recommended (sunnah) to break one’s fast as soon as one is sure the maghrib (sunset) has begun.<br />
It
 is good to break one’s fast by eating dates, and if not available, then
 by drinking water. It is good to say the following statement upon 
breaking one’s fast:<br />

<blockquote class="tr_bq">
اللهم لك صمت وعلى رزقك أفطرت</blockquote>
which 
means: <<O Allah, for Your sake I fasted, and with Your sustenance
 I broke my fast.>> It was narrated from Abu Dawud that the 
Prophet used to say this supplication upon breaking his fast. It is also
 good to delay the suhur meal until a time close to the dawn–but to stop
 eating before the dawn.<br />
Refraining from backbiting, cursing a 
Muslim, and other sins, is more emphasized while fasting. In committing 
some sins, the reward of one’s fasting might be lessened or lost. If 
someone curses another, let the one cursed abstain from responding with a
 similar curse. Instead, let him say, “I am fasting. I am fasting.”<br />

Paying
 the optional charity to the poor; reciting the Qur’an; staying in the 
mosque with the intention of i^tikaf, especially during the last ten 
days of Ramadan; praying the Tarawih prayer; and inviting others to 
break their fast on food which you provided are all rewardable acts.<br />
The
 month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for tone to gain a great deal 
of reward. Reward is earned by performing this obligation in worship and
 obedience to Allah, and by performing many of the recommended (sunnah) 
deeds. Let the person not waste his time during this blessed month.</div>
